Staying socially connected and mentally stimulated contributes to better cognitive health, improved mood and a higher quality of life for seniors. At The Blake, we build our entire community around ensuring each resident has a variety of opportunities to enjoy their favorite activities with others. Our dedicated activities professionals work every day to make The Blake a place for connection, learning and joy.
Monthly Engagement Calendar
Every month brings fresh opportunities to explore, learn and connect with your neighbors. Our activities calendar includes live music performances, community outings, guest speakers, educational seminars, cooking demonstrations, volunteer opportunities, and more. Whether you thrive in group settings or prefer smaller, more intimate gatherings, there’s something for everyone.
Introducing “The Blake Turns the Page”
This year, we’re particularly excited about our annual theme that combines our love of learning with our commitment to community: “The Blake Turns the Page.” Each month throughout the year, we’re diving into a beloved classic novel and bringing it to life through themed events, activities and celebrations.
We kicked off January by stepping into the glittering world of 1920s New York with “The Great Gatsby,” complete with Jazz Age-themed events and era-inspired cuisine. In February, we’re traveling to the English countryside for “Pride and Prejudice.” Residents can enjoy afternoon tea and revel in the romance of Jane Austen’s classic novel.

Each month’s programming is crafted to immerse you in the world of that particular novel. You’ll find the theme woven into activities, events and even dining experiences, creating opportunities to connect with neighbors while exploring these timeless stories.
Connection Creates Community
“The Blake Turns the Page” is just one example of how we approach engagement. What really matters is what happens when people gather: the friendships that form, the conversations that continue long after an event ends and most importantly the sense of belonging that comes from being part of something larger than yourself.
Our activities professionals understand that their job isn’t just to plan events but to create spaces where connection flourishes, residents discover new interests and every person feels seen, valued and included.
Creating Joy Every Day
Social engagement is at the core of seniors’ well-being. Life feels full and meaningful when you’re excited about the day ahead, when you have friends to share experiences with and when you’re learning something new.
Whether you’re attending a themed event or simply enjoying a meal with new friends, you’re doing more than filling your calendar – you’re building connections. And we are honored to be part of your story.
