Work is set to begin next month on The Blake at The Grove, a $25 million senior living facility that will be built east of the Mall of Louisiana.
A permit for the 213-unit development was issued Thursday. Officials with CR Properties of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, which is co-developing The Blake with Cardinal Ventures of Ridgeland, Mississippi, said the goal is to have the senior living center open by spring 2017.
The majority of the units will be set aside as independent living space for active seniors. Sixty-five of the units will be for assisted-living tenants, where nurses will provide help. Thirty-five of the units will be memory care units, set aside for people with Alzheimer’s disease.
The Blake will not be licensed to provide skilled nursing care. But it will feature a number of amenities, such as full dining service, a spa, a salon and transportation.
The Blake will be adjacent to The High Grove, an apartment building in the mixed-use Grove development.
