CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA: A modern senior living experience is making its way to the Charleston area, offering a new tradition in care. The Blake at Carnes Crossroads will offer exciting opportunities to the area’s seniors and their families. Groundbreaking is imminent and The Blake at Carnes Crossroads is scheduled to open in early 2017.
Cardinal Ventures, based in Mississippi, is developing this 88,000 square-‐foot building which will feature suites outfitted for comfortable, safe, and enjoyable senior living. The assisted living options include both two bedroom units and one bedroom units. The memory support facility focusing on Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care will feature both studio and one-‐bedroom units.
“We chose this Summerville location for many reasons,” says Harrison Young of Cardinal Ventures, the architect and developer of The Blake at Carnes Crossroads. “Summerville was listed in the Top 25 Places to Retire by CNN Money due to its affordability and medical centers and Carnes Crossroads, where The Blake will be located, is a master planned community developed by the Daniel Island Company that will offer medical offices, shops, restaurants, parks, a school, and a church. It was a perfect fit.”
Blake Management Group (BMG) is a privately owned company which operates Blake senior living communities with the goal to ensure residents receive the best care in every market they serve. With locations in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and now, South Carolina, Blake managed communities blend modern Southern sensibilities with compassionate care. Blake communities are staffed by a Registered Nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Also, The Blake takes pride in delivering an upscale restaurant-‐style dining experience with highly trained chefs and food prepared purposefully for seniors. Blake signature dishes are prepared by an Executive Chef and delivered to residents by trained dedicated servers.
The Blake and Blake Management Group are deeply rooted in hospitality. “Our leaders have broad experience in both senior living and the hospitality industries, and we have designed amenities with this worry-‐free resort model in mind” explains Jeremy Cole, BMG CEO. “As a result, the lives of seniors are enriched by an environment that both promotes healthy living and provides an atmosphere of service to our residents.” He added, “I look at every service delivered, every meal served, and every person cared for through the lens of if it would be good enough for my mother.”
It’s at The Blake that those looking for the best in care and quality of life will also find the best value around. The value can be seen immediately in the beauty of our community but also how resident care programming is delivered. “We use a concierge approach for wellness,” says Glenn Barclay, COO of BMG. “Our Blake team will partner up with healthcare networks to create a comprehensive wellness program. Services are at our residents’ fingertips, whether it’s a doctor, medication, home health, or physical therapy. It’s all right there in the building.”
A Blake Experience welcome center is expected to open near the site in the summer of 2016. Early residents will have the ability to reserve their exact unit and take advantage of move in specials. Visit blakeatcarnescrossroads.com for upcoming news regarding development and pre-opening sales.
