Since that time, she has nearly twenty-eight years of experience in various areas of patient care (Phlebotomist, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified EKG Technician, Certified Laboratory Technician, Registered Nurse, and Healthcare Management.)
Ceola earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern University A&M of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and her Master of Business Administration Healthcare Management from Western Governor University of Salt Lake, Utah. She has 13 years of nursing experience with implementing holistic care. Holistic nursing is a practice of nursing that focuses on healing the whole person. This practice recognizes that a person is not simply his or her illness. Holistic healing addresses the interconnectedness of the mind, body, spirit, social/cultural, emotions, relationships, context, and environment. All of these aspects combine to create the person, so in order to heal the person, the holistic nurse looks at all aspects and how they can affect the patient’s health.
Her clinical experience includes Medical Surgical, Rehabilitation, Case Management and Geriatrics; however, throughout her nursing career, taking care of the elderly has been her purpose and passion. We all will grow old, and as we do, we experience changes to our body and mind that will affect our abilities, behavior and personality. Ceola’s personal desire is to always show improvement toward the healthcare of her residents.
When she isn’t at The Blake, you can find Ceola mediating on the Word of God, listening to praise and worship music, spending time with family and friends, photography and walking on the beach.
