Walk With Me Coordinator

Jennifer Young

Jennifer Young is from Sharon, Mississippi and currently lives in Jackson, Mississippi with her wonderful husband and two daughters.

After she graduated from New Summit High School in Jackson, Mississippi, she attended Meridian Community College for two years. Then she transferred to Mississippi College, where she finished out her career playing basketball. She received her undergraduate degree in Sociology and Social Work from Mississippi College. She has been with The Blake at Township since 2012 and started out part-time and, from there, was promoted to lead in Memory Care. In 2014, she was promoted to Assisted Living, but Jennifer always made it her personal business to continue visiting Memory Care.

Jennifer has a passion for helping others and as the Activities Director, she is always looking for ways to improve the program. Based on the needs of the program participants, she works to determine which activities reflect the needs for socialization and spiritual needs, as well as any emotional and physical limitations or mental conditions.

Working with her residents has always meant the world to her and she has a positive heart and is very compassionate toward the residents. So much so that she considers The Blake her second home.

She understands how important it is to take care of those who have cared for her, so she was filled with gratitude to eventually become the Walk With Me Coordinator for Memory Care. When it comes time for someone to provide high-quality care for your loved one with dementia, she is very honored to be entrusted with the task.

When she isn’t at work, you can find Jennifer enjoying spending time with her husband, mother and daughters. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, fishing, hunting, playing sports, and cooking.
